Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (a.k.a. AOC), D-N.Y., was seen recently just chilling in Miami Beach on Thursday, the same day her home city reported a record number of COVID-19 cases. Yet she was enjoying herself down in Miami Beach, Florida.
The National Review reported that photos showed her seated outside a Miami Beach restaurant. While raising a cocktail in one photo, and checking her phone in another her Florida trip came as New York City reported a record number — nearly 44,000 — of new COVID-19 cases reported that day alone.
AOC represents New York’s 14th District, which covers parts of the Bronx and Queens. Rules for Thee But Not for Me saw Cortez back in February slamming Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, for taking a trip to Cancun, Mexico, while his fellow Texans and cinstituents dealing with the severe winter storm that left many without power or water for days.
It's OK for AOC to run and hide yet this is what she had to say while spewing her poisonous venom about Ted Cruz , "If Sen. Cruz had resigned back in January after helping gin up a violent insurrection that killed several people, he could've taken his vacation in peace," AOC tweeted then. "Texans should continue to demand his resignation." So, what is her excuse today. Might we suggest one for her. "If AOC would simply resign while still enjoying her vacation in the Red State of Florida she could avoid ever going back to the COVID infested 14th District in New York."
Cortez an often unhinged liberal is know for the absurdity of her comments. She even claimed to fear for her life in the January 6 "insurrection" if you choose to call it that in the Capital yet she was not even in the building when that occured as a matter of fact she was in The Cannon House Office Building (located near the Capital).
The unhinged congresswoman also fired back after Cruz blasted her and other Democrats during the Conservative Political Action Conference in Florida stating, "I don't care what Cruz said at CPAC, but I do care that it appears Texas was just a layover stop for him between Cancun and Orlando to drop a pack of water into someone’s trunk and abandon his constituents again as they get slammed with $16,000 electrical bills," she tweeted Feb. 28.
In April, AOC tweeted: "Ted, this is pretty rich coming from someone who fled their own home (and responsibilities) during an environmental crisis to cross the border and seek refuge in Mexico." Yet here she sits basking in the sun and fun of Miami Beach while her constituents suffer from the record number of new reported COVID cases. Remember "Rules for Thee But Not for Me"
Cruz did however cut his trip short and commented "obviously a mistake." He said that he had begun second-guessing the vacation the moment he got on the plane. "In hindsight, I wouldn't have done it," he told reporters.
Florida, as is much of the country, is also seeing record number of COVID-19 cases. The Sunshine State saw more than 58,000 new cases Wednesday, NBC News reported. Gee Ms. Ocasio-Cortez I guess you can run, but you can't hide from the pandemic that has beseiged the country by storm.
It has been speculated that AOC would mount a challenge against fellow New Yorker Chuckie Boy Schumer for his senate seat in the 2022 election. That ought to be an interesting campaign to say the least as the two New Yorkers sqaure off in an epic battle, I wonder if one of them will run their campaigns from Joe Biden's basement (heck it seemed to work for him).
A political side note from the Editorial Staff. Can a politician do their job while seeking another position ie. a senate or house member running for President? Or a governor seeking national office. How can they run a campaign and do their current job. In my most humble opinion when a candidate makes the decision to seek 'higher office' don't you think that they should be forced to resign their current position? Why not comment below. We love to hear from out readers.
